SESSIONS
To capture that “sleepy newborn” look and catch kids of all ages in their usual environment, Katherine photographs children and families in their own homes or at an indoor or outdoor location of their choice in the Grand Rapids area. For an additional travel feel, she will also photograph beach sessions. Her sitting fee covers 1-2 hours of photography as well as post-shoot processing work. Katherine prefers to use natural light when available but is able to bring lights when this is not possible.

Katherine’s approach to photography is fresh, fun, and straightforward. By making kids comfortable and drawing out their unique personalities, she captures images that are candid, natural, and beautiful in their simplicity. Katherine takes time to connect with children, engage them patiently, and then get behind the lens to document those little, everyday moments that make up a childhood. Success, for her, is being able to preserve that special smile or silly look that defines a child at a certain stage of life, and she considers it a privilege to be welcomed into their world from time to time.
